How Long Are Maui Bicycle Tours?
How Long Are Maui Bicycle Tours?
Maui, in general, has a lot of things to see and do, whether you are looking for adventure or relaxation. There’s whale watching, snorkeling, luaus, dinner and dancing, exploring on ATVs, ziplining, sunset cruises, and so much more. But you absolutely cannot forget about the Haleakala bicycle tour that you won’t want to miss. Imagine riding downhill with the wind hitting your face while seeing some of the most amazing views you have ever laid eyes on. Can you picture it?
Because your trip to the island isn’t one that is likely to happen all the time, it is important that you plan your visit so that you can see and do as much as possible – including the bicycle tour.
What is Haleakala?
In Hawaiian, Haleakala means House of the Sun. It is a dormant shield volcano that last erupted in 1790. Found in the Haleakala National Park, this volcano (one of two on the island of Maui) has one of the biggest volcanic craters in the world. In fact, this crater is why many come to the park.
Perhaps one of the most fascinating things about visiting Haleakala National Park is its sunrise. This is one of the most beautiful visions you will see – but it means traveling up above 6,500 feet in elevation to the summit. You will feel like you are amongst the clouds as the warmth and colors begin to blanket you. With the passing of time, everything below you becomes illuminated.
No matter what your trip to Maui entails, a trip to Haleakala needs to be included.
Maui Bicycle Tours
Maui bicycle tours give you a chance to take in Haleakala National Park and its spectacular sights while enjoying the exhilarating experience of riding a bike. Sure, you can drive, but if you ask anyone who has done the tour – locals, and tourists – there is no comparison. The best part is that it’s all downhill so there is no exertion or heavy pedaling required.
You will travel through small communities, past pineapple fields, through the Haleakala Ranch, and end at the Pacific Ocean.
There are four options to choose from – each offering a different time frame and a slightly different experience. Learning about them will help you fit them into your schedule so you don’t miss out when you visit!
